Geothermal technology is not the technology of the future, but the technology of now. Just like the dollar gallon gas days are gone, so are the cheap electric bills. Just using light bulbs or fans does not run live drill a very much. But cooling or heating massive amounts of square footage requires serious amounts of power to sustain a comfortable indoor temperature. With a geothermal system in interest savings of 35 to 45% are not a pipe dream but a reality. Many geothermal contractors are now drilling their own geothermal loops bore holes. The reason this is a good idea is because the air conditioning and heating contractor now has the competitive edge. He no longer has to wait to get on the drillers schedule he makes the drill schedule his self if he has his own portable geothermal drilling rig.
Drillcat is a leader of geothermal loop drill design. We deliver a new level of innovation to a industry once dominated by old truck mounted water well drilling rigs. The need for delivering efficiency to the geothermal drilling process has been identified and Drillcat has risen up to the challenge by developing and implementing a new processes to reduce costs, increase productivity and keep collateral impact on a site and adjacent areas to a bare minimum Why use a Portable geothermal drilling rig for geothermal installations? New Drillcat drilling technology provides the fastest drilling method on earth for geothermal installations. Geothermal holes are drilled 3 times faster than any other method because it is less involved than drilling a water well.
Just below the frost line, the earth has a constant temperature of about 64 degrees ( depending on where you are and what is local average temp). Geothermal systems use this natural energy to heat homes and commercial company buildings in the cold months and to cool them during warmer weather. With electric power rates going up, and carbon cap & Tax coming even raising rates even higher. Geothermal is the answer.
The earth has the ability to absorb and store heat which can be transferred between the earth
and a building through a ground source heat pump. There are many kinds of geo system, make
sure you do your home work. I like the standard ground loops best. But other work too.
Using geo loop technology, the earths stored heat is extracted through a loop system and
pumped to a heat pump or exchanger, which in turn circulates the heat through the duct system
into a building. In summer, the process is reversed: indoor heat is extracted from the air and
transferred to the earth, producing a cool stable building environment.
Unlike gas or oil wells, geothermal energy does not run out. As energy is withdrawn to heat a
building, it is replenished by the sun, all without burning fuels or dumping harmful gases to the
atmosphere.
On average, a geo loop system can produce heat with an average savings of 63 % over natural
gas, 75 per cent savings over fuel oil and 85 per cent savings over propane.
This results in a fast payback on the cost of installation.
