Starting a Water well drilling cooperative ( WWDC) (also
co-operative; often referred to as a co-op) is a Water organization
owned and operated by a group of individuals for their mutual benefit
for getting a water well. A WWDC united voluntarily to meet their
common economic, and Water needs and aspirations through jointly
owned and democratically controlled WWDC. A WWDC
cooperative may also be defined as a business owned and controlled
equally by the people who use its services or by the people who work
there. A WWDC is a legal mechanism for ownership of drilling
equipment where residents either own shares reflecting their equity in the
cooperatives water well drilling rig & equipment.
This is a great way to form a system where together many people
needing a water well pool together, have a legal ownership of the drill
rig, together taking there turn at getting a water well, have there water
well drilled at little cost. There are other details that can be included
when forming this water Co-operative.
Below is a basic sample of water drilling well cost vs Having a water
well drilled.
A WWDC
Water well drilling cooperative
With many people wanting a water well, but do not want to spend 15k
on each water well, a water well drilling (WWDC) may work. If you
have enough friends or neighbors who need a water well, you can pool
your funds together and go in to a water well drilling rig co op and buy
a drilling rig.
If you have 10 people who need a water well, here are the facts.
1 water well @ 15k each x 10 = $150,000.00 total - plus remember,
drilling contractors do not guarantee water! So a 150k investment
without any guarantee. How solid is this investment?
Drilling dry holes cost the same.
Materials for one 200ft well
4" casing & screen 450.00 @ 2.00 per ft
well pump, tanks pressure switch and wire and plumbing fittings 475.00
Total materials--- 925.00
not including your labor and fuel, this leaves you with 14,075.00 per
well profit.
14,075.00 x 10 water wells = 140,750.00 does this look like you may
save some money.
I have met people who have formed a Water well drilling
cooperative . Who planed it all and drilled 10 wells, when he got
finished Part of his deal was he got to keep the rig for free. The others
were glad, they got a 15k water well for materials cost only. The Head
guy was glad he got a free drilling rig when everything was finished 6
months later.
This would be a good system to do for people who have know how,
but are low on cash.
This type of system can also work for Non profit groups wanting to drill
in Africa or any where else world wide. These are just a few simple
ideas you may be able to apply to your own needs.
